McMonagle Marble & Granite: rooftop solar on an industrial shed
Commercial solar panels fitted to the roof of an energy-intensive stone manufacturing premises in Co. Donegal.

The project
Stone and marble manufacturing draws heavy, steady electricity through the working day, cutting, polishing and moving material. For a business like McMonagle Marble & Granite, that makes energy prices a real pressure on margins.
We fitted rooftop solar panels across the industrial shed, sized to the building and installed around a working yard, to offset a share of that draw and put an unused roof to work.
What we did
Assessment
We reviewed the shed roof and the site's electricity use across a manufacturing working day.
Install
Rooftop solar panels fitted across the industrial shed, coordinated around a working yard so production could continue.
Result
Lower energy costs on an energy-intensive manufacturing site.
Why it works
Machinery runs through daylight hours, so the site uses its own solar electricity and is less exposed to rising grid prices.
