A ground source heat pump for a remote home in Co. Cavan
A tailored ground source propane heat pump installation with a compact timber frame plant room, supported by an SEAI grant.

The project
This remote home in Co. Cavan now runs on a 1-6 EcoGEO PRO ground source heat pump, housed in a small timber frame plant room at the back of the house.
The plant room holds the hot water cylinder and heat pump, keeping the equipment out of the living space and the installation quiet and practical for its location.
What we installed
Heat pump
A ground source propane heat pump was selected to suit the home and its location.
Plant room
A compact timber frame plant room houses the cylinder and heat pump, freeing up space inside the house.
Support
The homeowner received an SEAI grant of €6,500 towards the installation.
Why it works
Ground temperatures stay steady all year, so a ground source heat pump delivers consistent heating even through an Irish winter.
